TL;DR

  • AnalogReader has a chrome extension now! Please upvote if you like it!

  • I've updated Vedeggio's designs too, and now you can rename expenses.

  • I've started making fake languages using AI to name places in my fantasy book(yeah, I'm writing one)

Analog Reader Chrome Extension!!

Remember this?

Now, not only do we have the 3-column display, but also several different layouts! Right no,w they are automatically aligned based on the size of the text per page. But soon I'll add custom layouts that you can then choose for your issue!

And the kickass thing I launched this past week was this!

The very own chrome extension, that way you can simply click on it and it will send the current blog post directly to analog reader, one click transform your newsletter or article into a printable pdf!

Vedeggio New designs!

For the folks that don't know yet, I've built a money tracking software called Vedeggio.

It's an app with the sole purpose of getting my lazy ass to properly track where my money is going.

It's simple, I export csvs with credit cards and expenses from my bank, i feed into vedeggio and then see the number of the month, how much I saved up and the categories.

That's the entire flow

I'm not gonna lie, the first time it is a pain in the ass to categorize every single expense, but we batch similar expenses together already and after the first time you do this we remember categories so you won't need to categorize again.

After 3 months using vedeggio I just need to categorize about 5-10 new expenses in a new month.

So what's new?

I've made a few tweaks to the landing page so it looks more like an old book.

But most importantly! If you head out to your Expenses for the month, you will see that we can now edit the names of the expenses! And it remembers it forever, the previous expenses and the next ones will have your custom name on them.

Let me know if you want a free tier to experiment!

I'm Writing a Fantasy Book

So naturally you'd ask me, why?

I am doing this to have fun, it's something I like to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon at the coffeeshop next to my house.

I started writing about a bunch of degenerates that absolutely don't learn from their mistakes in a world with dragons and witches.

But after 50 pages or so, I realized my world wasn't as “real” as real fantasy worlds. I had to actually draw the maps and name things properly. Up til this point, I was mainly just winging it, picking names from places I read about, like George, Geoffrey, etc.

But how would I name foreign lands? And special artifacts? Sure, I could just copy straight out of Tolkien, D&D, etc. But what's the fun in that? I wanted to have MY WORLD.

So what I did was learn how to create languages, just like Tolkien did, so that I could have names of things in different languages, that way it has a more “real” feel.

Here's an example I decided to put on the first page of the book:

Kurodogu:
Hertsa va feinu-gesha bei, dieze knig da foira-stuka ze zena-verdu.

Solérian:
Por una koréva de béla-óskuro, éso livro ésa fláma kel des-konchéva.

Vaelith:
Rith rhii'na a mae va nei'hel, zhaan vael a shi'haal. Wae. Rith nuur.

Gorodvesh:
Dush'feinu, rang'ravzh, dieze knig'vesh da kotch'zhel ze zena-ov. Bez-konch.

Anhã'nehe:
Hendu'tẽ: kerã'siku pyã'rẽ, nhe'ẽ'surã ko kotã'tẽ, ndó'o'wẽ'ĩ.

Sévulesse:
Du cœuraise nérsonne, le lévraine fulîm-en-è. Jamaise nukît-al voire.

Commontongue:
For a special type of brain, this book is going to be like crack cocaine.

Hahaha, this already feels nice. I also had the liberty to create some songs in each language to see if they sounded cool. That to me is the key test of a language.

I'll post the songs in a later issue; I'm still tweaking them a bit.

That is it for this issue, thanks for reading and catch you next time!
