Weekly roundup
This is going to be a bit unorthodox
Last week we had updates on your favorite anti-doomscrolling tool, Analog Reader, launching on Product Hunt from close friends, and overall trends for indiehacking that week.
This week is all about a challenge. I'm writing this book, and the challenge is to finish it in 7 days. It is day 2/7.
The Challenge
The Worst Party in the Realm

A little bit of context. A while back, I was going insane with so much shit going on in my life, and the only thing that kept me sane was a routine. To walk across the street to the WeCoffee establishment in the shopping mall, carrying my portable typewriter and writing a book.
Initially, the book was simply “It's Always Sunny in Middle-Earth" but after writing a couple chapters, I started getting really into it and decided on a major rewrite. I wouldn't be able to publish it if I didn't.
So I studied how Tolkien made his world believable, and picked several things from him and other authors I love to create a believable world. That way I could throw a bunch of assholes into this world and see them ruining everyone's lives around them.
This is how it started: I'd write every week on a Sunday for about four hours.
The problem was, after about 8-9 chapters, I was forgetting too much from week to week. Ideally, I'd be able to focus for a short period and get at least the first draft written down. But life kept getting in the way.
Well, a couple of days ago my wife travelled to San Francisco to throw a hardware-as-a-hobby event. And so an idea formed inside my mind. "Could I write the rest of the chapters in less than 7 days?”
I still don't know; I'm on day 2 and wrote more than I expected in the past few days. If I keep the same rhythm, I'd have the first draft done by Sunday.
I recorded a YouTube video and will upload it if the challenge is successful.
That's it for the news. If you are curious, you can read the first 8 chapters at https://www.worstparty.com/
See ya next week!
Obs: This dog is featured in the book. Her name is Lili Marrie, but she appears under a different name in the book.

Obs2: I had to cut off so much from this book to make it understandable; some characters spanned out into other possible books. Here's a sneak peek.

That's it for a sneak peek.
That’s it for this week.
